Calvin Ayre, the owner and founder of Bodog.com, my online poker room of choice, made the news twice this week. Once good and once bad.
The first bit of news is that he made the cover of Forbes Billionaire issue. There is an article about him by Matthew Miller. It discusses the history and legality of Ayre's business including his usage of the fictional Cole Turner as the face of Bodog for a while.
The second article is a news brief stating that Costa Rican police raided Ayre's house under the suspicion that unlicensced gambling was taking place. However, Forbes.com claims that it was becuase of complaints from neighbors about a party and that Ayre was detained. As far as I can tell, nothing illegal was going on but you can read the articles and judge for yourself. Either way, it is something to pay attention to.
